Community Service

Beginning in November of 2015, on every first Monday of the month, the TCGi team has been serving food and smiles at Elijah’s Promise Food Kitchen in New Brunswick. Duties include assisting the wonderful chefs in food preparation, serving the meals to those who come and then cleaning up to get it ready for the next day’s meals.

Dawna Colbert, TCGi’s Procurement Operations Manager (she is on the far right in the photo to the left), spearheaded the volunteer effort at Elijah’s Promise, which came after a TCGi team meeting where we were discussing ways to GIVE BACK! Dawna has led other volunteer efforts for TCGi including TCGi’s Franklin Food Drive benefitting the Franklin Food Bank and TCGi’s 2016 Holiday Toy Drive at 501 Davidson Ave.

Beyond providing daily meals (lunch and dinner), Elijah’s Promise offers a path in the the food service industry through their culinary arts training program called Promise Culinary School, established in 1997.

The spirit of giving back and volunteering is only a CLICK or CALL away. Please consider providing your Time, Treasure or Talents to a worthy cause, especially Elijah’s Promise.

Also, please click here to learn about a scholarship in Dawna’s honor; a leader here at TCGi and in life, who lost her battle with cancer this May.
